How Memories affect our Emotions

MEMORIES

What are memories really?

Memories for me is a magical & spiritual ability everyone possess.
To remember a moment in the past ,where you can travel back in time & recall with such detail the events that took place in that very moment.
It's like Day dreaming is the ability to time travel. It exist in ones mind & spirit .

To make it a memory it must have been something special to your very being that you subconsciously recorded it.

One can see, hear, feel & yes even recall the aroma in the air that was present at that time.

At times to remember something is not even in your control, It might be triggered by a present event, A picture or statement that was said.

If you doubt the power of a memory  just  think about this.
I once saw a man brought to tears by just taking a bite of pie.

Everyone asked him what's wrong ? but he could not speak.

He got up from the table and asked who made this pie? With such emotion in his voice.

The elderly woman that made it came out of the kitchen saying  " I did " with concern on her face, perhaps Fearing he disliked it.

He hugged her like a little boy hugs his mother ,crying & sobbing like a child.

Everyone at the table just stared in awww.

When he finally stopped crying he said that his mother that just pasted away recently was the only woman that would make pies like that.

He began to tell us how he remembered being a child & making pies with his mother in the kitchen.
He even gave us details of the songs she played as she  would dance around singing and laughing with him. "I was her little helper" he said.

Day by day the whole world is making memories some pleasant  some traumatic .

When one records a memory it requires a state of pleasure or suffering that affects you in such a level it's automatically recored to your very being.

We all share this magical abilities but forget this is taking place everyday as if you forgot your recorder was on.

One day we all will be just a memory for our children & there children. Perhaps even in history books.

Have you ever noticed how the elderly just repeat there memories over & over again. Some people don't truly understand how special it is for them to remember.

So when tempted to say something that might hurt someone or recored a bad memory please ask yourself,

Is this worth a bad memory?
Ask yourself ,

What would I like to be remembered for?

In other words, Love is eternal, a feeling that one can access that takes you back in time through  your memories.

Jesus too said "Remember me" and for the ones that have past there physical expiration date. To know they still live in your memories is a gift of love.
